REFUND POLICY

Big Dog Racing – Performance & Aftermarket Automotive Parts (Australia)

1. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

Big Dog Racing complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under ACL.

2. Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds for change of mind.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Ordering the wrong part

  • Incompatibility with your vehicle

  • Deciding you no longer want the item

  • Finding the product cheaper elsewhere

Buyers are responsible for confirming compatibility before purchase.

3. Performance & Aftermarket Parts Disclaimer

All products sold by Big Dog Racing are aftermarket performance parts.

Due to the nature of performance hardware:

  • Increased wear, noise, vibration, harshness, and failure risk are considered normal characteristics

  • Performance gains, drivability changes, or subjective dissatisfaction do not constitute a fault

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • “Did not meet expectations”

  • “Did not make enough power”

  • “Too loud / harsh / aggressive”

  • Racing or track-related failures

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable, except where required by ACL:

  • Electrical or electronic components (including ECUs, sensors, solenoids, ignition parts)

  • Engine management, tuning devices, or software

  • Custom, special-order, or made-to-order products

  • Items that have been installed, test-fitted, modified, or used

  • Items damaged due to incorrect installation, misuse, or racing

  • Clearance or discounted items (unless faulty under ACL)

5. Faulty or Defective Products

If you believe an item is faulty, you must:

  1. Contact Big Dog Racing within 7 days of delivery

  2. Provide proof of purchase

  3. Provide clear photos, videos, and any requested diagnostic information

We reserve the right to:

  • Inspect the product

  • Require assessment by the manufacturer or supplier

  • Repair, replace, or refund at our discretion, in accordance with ACL

Products damaged due to:

  • Incorrect installation

  • Improper tuning

  • Abuse, racing, or track use

  • External factors (heat, fluids, impact, contamination)

are not considered faulty under ACL.

6. Major vs Minor Failures

  • Minor failure: We may choose to repair or replace the item

  • Major failure: You may choose a refund or replacement, as required under ACL

Big Dog Racing reserves the right to determine whether a failure is major or minor, subject to ACL guidelines.

7. Returns Process

  • Returns must be approved before being sent back

  • Unauthorised returns will not be accepted

  • Returned items must be securely packaged

Unless the product is deemed faulty under ACL:

  • Return shipping costs are the Buyer’s responsibility

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable

8. Refund Method

Approved refunds will be processed:

  • To the original payment method

  • Or as store credit, at Big Dog Racing’s discretion

Refunds do not include:

  • Shipping costs

  • Installation costs

  • Tuning costs

  • Downtime, labour, or consequential losses

9. Order Errors & Damage in Transit

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect:

  • Notify Big Dog Racing within 48 hours of delivery

  • Provide photos of the packaging and item

Failure to report within this timeframe may void eligibility for a claim.

10. Manufacturer Warranties

Any warranty provided is solely the manufacturer’s warranty.

Big Dog Racing acts only as a reseller and is not responsible for:

  • Manufacturer warranty approval

  • Turnaround times

  • Warranty refusals

11. Right to Refuse Refunds

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Big Dog Racing reserves the right to refuse a refund or return where:

  • The issue is not covered by ACL

  • The product has been used, installed, or modified

  • The claim relates to performance expectations rather than a defect

12. Policy Updates

Big Dog Racing may update this Refund Policy at any time. The policy in effect at the time of purchase will apply.
